Rebecca's Biography
In 2007 I attended Moe Neighbourhood House with a friend to complete a beginners Computer course. Once I had completed My course at the MNH I felt empowered to continue with furthering my education and enrolled at Yallourn GippsTafe to complete my VCE. Since then I have not only gained my VCE, but I have also chosen a career path for myself and gained my Cert IV and Diploma of Community Services work. Through completing my Diploma I had the option of a pathway to University. I chose to take this path and am now completing a Bachelor of Community Work and Counselling at Monash University.

Through completing a Community Development Student placement, which I chose to undertake at Moe Neighbourhood house, I have been able to continue on as a volunteer and assist the house while continually updating my skills and knowledge. I am currently in my final year at Monash University and am now undertaking a 60 day Field Education Student Placement with GEST. I am looking forward to learning how GEST works together with community members, in order for them to reach their goals through education, training and employment opportunities.

Attending the Job Skills Expo at Lardner Park recently was a highlight for me.

I thought it was fantastic to see students excited about their career possibilities and future opportunities.
